Momipites fragilis

Taxonomy
Momipites fragilis was named by Frederiksen and Christopher (1978). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Plate 1, figure 11, Slide DC-40 (2), coordinates 60.0 x 98.6, a microspore, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS Clubhouse Crossroads corehole 1, sample DC-40, which is in a Santonian marine horizon in the Black Creek Formation of South Carolina.
