Momipites annulatus
Taxonomy
Momipites annulatus was named by Frederiksen and Christopher (1978). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Plate 1, figure 17, Slide DC-I (4), coordinates 35.5 x 97.5, a microspore, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS Clubhouse Crossroads corehole 1, sample DC-1, which is in a Chattian marine sandstone in the Cooper Formation of South Carolina.
