Casuarinidites sparsus

Taxonomy
Casuarinidites sparsus was named by Frederiksen and Christopher (1978). It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Plate 3, fig. 25, Slide DC-12(5), coordinates 45.2 x 107.9, a microspore. Its type locality is USGS Clubhouse Crossroads corehole 1, sample DC-12, which is in a Paleocene marine limestone in the Black Mingo Formation of South Carolina.
