Anisaeger longirostrus was named by Smith et al. (2022). Its type specimen is UBGD294000, a carapace, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Paris Canyon (Paris Biota), which is in a Spathian transition zone/lower shoreface mudstone/marl in Idaho.
