Taxonomy
Florentiamys loomisi was named by Wood (1936) [genotype]. Its type locality is Sixty Six Mountain (Upper), which is in an Arikareean terrestrial horizon in the Harrison Formation of Wyoming. It is the type species of Florentiamys.
