Sonneratioxylon intertrappeum was named by Biradar and Mahabale (1975). It is not extant. Its type locality is Mohgaon Kalan, which is in a Paleogene lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal horizon in the Deccan Intertrappean Formation of India.
