Syzygioxylon was named by Ingle (1973). It is not extant. Its type is Syzygioxylon mandlaense.

It was assigned to Myrtaceae by Srivastava (1991).

Synonyms
  • Syzygioxylon indicum was named by Trivedi and Verma (1971). It is not extant. Its type locality is Mohgaon Kalan, which is in a Paleogene lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal horizon in the Deccan Intertrappean Formation of India.

    It was considered a nomen nudum by Srivastava (1991).
