Taxonomy
Syzygioxylon chhindwarense was named by Nambudiri and Tidwell (1977). It is not extant. Its type locality is Mohgaon Kalan, which is in a Paleogene lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal horizon in the Deccan Intertrappean Formation of India.
