Odontochile (Erbenochile) erbeni was named by Alberti (1981) [= Coronura aspectans Hall, 1888, Le Maître 1950, p. 254. 1952
= Coronura aspectans (Conrad, 1841) Hall, 1888, Le Maître 1952, pl. 20, fig. 30, p. 152.]. Its type specimen is GFCL 403 and is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Erbenochile erbeni by Morzadec (1995) and Chatterton et al. (2006).
