Cuvieronius priestleyi
Taxonomy
Gomphotherium priestleyi was named by Hay and Cook (1930). Its type specimen is DMNS 1062, a tooth (tooth is taken to be the lower right second molar), and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Stegomastodon priestleyi by Dalquest (1977); it was recombined as Cuvieronius priestleyi by Madden (1983).
