Taxonomy
Haplaletes disceptatrix was named by Simpson (1935) [genotype]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gidley Quarry, which is in a Torrejonian terrestrial horizon in the Fort Union Formation of Montana. It is the type species of Haplaletes.
