Taxonomy
Proetus (Proetus) lecointrei was named by Alberti (1969). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ghtira Limestone, RT VII/9-10, Rabat-Tiflet Area, Morocco, which is in a Pragian marine limestone in the Ghtira Limestone Formation of Morocco.
It was recombined as Orbitoproetus lecointrei by Bault et al. (2021).
