Taxonomy
Araucarites latifolius was named by Feistmantel (1882). It is not extant. Its type locality is Bansa, Shahdol, which is in a Jurassic/Cretaceous fluvial horizon in the Bansa Formation of India.

It was recombined as Marwaria latifolia by Sukh-Dev and Bose (1974) and Chandra and Tewari (1991).
