Taxonomy
Schizoproetoides ellesmerensis was named by Ormiston (1967). Its type specimen is GSC 18224, a pygidium, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Blue Fiord Formation, Ellesmere and Devon Islands, which is in an Emsian shallow subtidal limestone/shale in the Blue Fiord Formation of Canada.
