Taxonomy
Osmundites rajmahalense was named by Gupta (1970). It is not extant. Its type locality is Amarjola, Rajmahal Hills, which is in a Jurassic fluvial horizon in the Rajmahal Formation of India.
It was recombined as Osmundacaulis rajmahalense by Sharma (1973) and Chandra and Tewari (1991).
