It was recombined as Microtus (Pedomys) ochrogaster by Hibbard (1955); it was recombined as Pitymys ochrogaster by Martin (1974), Repenning (1983) and Repenning and Grady (1988); it was recombined as Pedomys ochrogaster by Pfaff (1990); it was recombined as Microtus ochrogaster by Hall and Kelson (1959), Wilson (1967), Kurten and Anderson (1980), Bell and Bever (2006) and Galewski et al. (2006).
