Rangea was named by Gurich (1930) [Sepkoski's age data: V u]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Rangeomorpha by Sepkoski (2002), Erwin et al. (2011) and Darroch et al. (2018); and to Petalonamae by Hoyal Cuthill and Han (2018).
