Taxonomy
Ptychoparia cilles was named by Walcott (1917). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Walcott Loc. 63d. Ptarmigan Peak, which is in a Delamaran carbonate limestone in the Ptarmigan Formation of Canada.
It was recombined as Periomma cilles by Resser (1937), Lochman (1947).
