Taxonomy
Mimotricentes ischyrus was named by Gingerich (1978). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Hell's Half Acre (Lower), which is in a Clarkforkian terrestrial horizon in the DeBeque Formation of Colorado.
It was recombined as Lambertocyon ischyrus by Gingerich (1979) and Gunnell (1994).
