Tetrastylus laevigatus
Taxonomy
Tetrastylus laevigatus was named by Ameghino (1886) [Sostillo et al. (2022), the holotype was lost, and for this reason, Nasif (2009) designed a new one in her doctoral thesis, not published yet: MACN 3518 right hemimandible, with incisor and complete dental series. We acept her proposal.]. Its type specimen is MACN 3518, a mandible (right hemimandible, with incisor and complete dental series), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Parana, Pueblo Brugo to Diamante, Ituzaingo Fm., which is in a Huayquerian marine sandstone/mudstone in the Ituzaingo Formation of Argentina.
