Becuaster fusiliformis was named by Gale (2018). Its type specimen is holotype NHMUK EE 16,587, paratypes NHMUK EE 16,635, NHMUK EE 16,636, NHMUK EE 16,639 and is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Becuaster.
