Marsholestes dasypelix
Taxonomy
Myolestes dasypelix was named by Matthew (1909) [genotype]. Its type specimen is AMNH 11490, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Grizzly Buttes, which is in a Bridgerian terrestrial horizon in the Bridger Formation of Wyoming. It is the type species of Myolestes.
It was recombined as Nyctitherium dasypelix by Gazin (1976); it was recombined as Marsholestes dasypelix by McKenna and Haase (1992) and Gunnell et al. (2008).
