Menodus heloceras
Taxonomy
Megaceratops helocerus was named by Cope (1873). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Horsetail Creek, which is in a Chadronian terrestrial horizon in the White River Formation of Colorado.
It was recombined as Symborodon heloceras by Cope (1873), Cope (1875) and Osborn (1902); it was recombined as Titanotherium heloceras by Osborn (1896) and Hay (1902); it was recombined as Menodus heloceras by Osborn (1929) and Emry (1975); it was recombined as Menops heloceras by Mader (1989) and Mader (1998).
