Taxonomy
Nephrotheca ruderalis was named by Marek (1989). Its type specimen is LM 187 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Praha-Kacerov, which is in a Kralodvorian offshore shelf claystone in the Kraluv Dvur Formation of Czechia.
