Taxonomy
Ammonites albineus was named by Oppel (1862). Its type specimen is SNSB-BSPG AS VIII 33 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ridge above Laufen on the Eyach, which is in a Kimmeridgian marine limestone in Germany.
It was recombined as Pomerania (Pachypictonia) albinea by Geyer (1961).
