Taxonomy
Ammonites cymodoce was named by d'Orbigny (1850). It is not extant. Its type specimen is MNHN.F.R03231. Its type locality is Canal de Belle-Croix, which is in a Kimmeridgian marine limestone in France. It is the type species of Pictonia, Rasenia.
It was recombined as Pictonia cymodoce by Douville (1879); it was recombined as Rasenia cymodoce by Salfeld (1913).
