Fuchungopora was named by Lin (1963) [Sepkoski's age data: D Fame-u C Vise Sepkoski's reference number: 798]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Gorskyitidae by Hill (1981); to Tabulata by Sepkoski (2002); and to Syringoporidae by Zapalski (2012).
