Pitaria praenominata was named by Hanna (1924). It is extant.

Synonyms

Meretrix dalli was named by Dickerson (1914). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP 790, which is in a Paleocene marine horizon in the Martinez Formation of California.

It was replaced with Pitaria praenominata by Hanna (1924).
