Taxonomy
Pseudotomus coloradensis was named by Wood (1962). Its type locality is The Amphitheater, which is in a Wasatchian terrestrial horizon in the DeBeque Formation of Colorado.

It was recombined as Mytonomys coloradensis by Korth (1984).
