Taxonomy
Nothokemas waldropi was named by Frailey (1978). Its type specimen is UF 23927, a mandible (left ramus with c1, p2-m3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is SB-1A, which is in a Harrisonian terrestrial horizon in Florida.
