Taxonomy
Dicea lepuscula was named by Hibbard (1939) [genotype]. Its type locality is Rexroad KU Locality 3, which is in a Blancan terrestrial horizon in the Rexroad Formation of Kansas.
It was recombined as Notolagus lepusculus by Hibbard and Riggs (1949), Dawson (1958), Kurten and Anderson (1980) and White (1991).
