Taxonomy
Oklahomalagus whisenhunti was named by Dalquest et al. (1996) [genotype]. Its type locality is Whisenhunt Quarry, which is in a Clarendonian terrestrial horizon in the Laverne Formation of Oklahoma. It is the type species of Oklahomalagus.
