Taxonomy
Oligobunis darbyi was named by Thorpe (1921). Its type specimen is YPM 10272, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Monroe Creek (Type), which is in a Monroecreekian terrestrial horizon in the Monroe Creek Formation of Nebraska.
It was recombined as Promartes darbyi by Hough (1944) and Woodburne et al. (1974).
