Oodectes pugnax
Taxonomy
Uintacyon pugnax was named by Wortman and Matthew (1899). Its type specimen is AMNH 1744, a mandible ( nearly complete lower jaw), and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was synonymized subjectively with Oodectes herpestoides by MacIntyre and Guthrie (1979); it was recombined as Oodectes pugnax by Matthew (1909) and Heinrich (1997).
