Taxonomy
Osbornodon fricki was named by Wang (1994). Its type specimen is F:AM 27363, a partial skeleton (skull, right ramus, five lumbar vertebrae, pelvis, and partial limbs), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Skull Ridge, which is in a Barstovian terrestrial horizon in the Tesuque Formation of New Mexico.
