Multithecopora was named by Yoh (1927) [Sepkoski's age data: S Ldov P Guad-u Sepkoski's reference number: 2]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Multithecoporidae by Hill (1981); to Tabulata by Sepkoski (2002); and to Auloporida by Kiessling (2003).
