Neosyringopora was named by Sokolov (1955) [Sepkoski's age data: C Step-l P Sakm-l]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Gorskyitidae by Hill (1981) and Wilson (1994); to Tabulata by Sepkoski (2002); and to Multithecoporidae by Fernández‐Martínez et al. (2019).
