Taxonomy
Diacodon bridgeri was named by Simpson (1959). Its type locality is Tabernacle Butte Locality 6, which is in a Bridgerian terrestrial horizon in the Bridger Formation of Wyoming.
It was recombined as Palaeictops bridgeri by McKenna et al. (1962), Van Valen (1967), Gazin (1976), Novacek (1977), Novacek (1982) and Velazco and Novacek (2016).
