Palaeosyops paludosus
Taxonomy
Palaeosyops paludosus was named by Leidy (1870) [genotype]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Church Buttes, which is in a Bridgerian terrestrial horizon in the Bridger Formation of Wyoming.
It was recombined as Limnohyus paludosus by Cope (1873); it was synonymized subjectively with Palaeosyops fontinalis by Stucky (1984).
