Taxonomy
Niphredil radagasti was named by Van Valen (1978) [genotype]. Its type locality is Cedar Point Quarry, which is in a Tiffanian fluvial-lacustrine siliciclastic in the Fort Union Formation of Wyoming.
It was recombined as Paleotomus radagasti by Krause and Gingerich (1983).
