Taxonomy
Cupressimus storeri was named by Ostrander (1983). Its type specimen is SDSM 10139, a mandible (left dentary fragment with broken incisor, P4-M1, and alveoli for M2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Raben Ranch, which is in a Chadronian terrestrial horizon in the Chadron Formation of Nebraska.
It was recombined as Paranamatomys storeri by Korth (1992).
