Taxonomy
Charlesmooria childei was named by Kühne (1969) [genotype]. It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Abbey Wood, which is in a Ypresian marine sandstone in the Blackheath Beds Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Parectypodus childei by Sloan (1981); it was recombined as Ectypodus childei by Krause (1982) and Hooker (2010).
