Taxonomy
Mysops boskeyi was named by Wood (1973). Its type locality is Whistler Squat (TMM 41372), which is in an Uintan terrestrial horizon in the Devil's Graveyard Formation of Texas.

It was recombined as Pareumys boskeyi by Korth (1994).
