Pediomys elegans

Taxonomy
Pediomys elegans was named by Marsh (1889) [neotype is CM 11658, a right fragmentary maxilla with M2-4]. Its type specimen is YPM 11866, a tooth (LM2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mammal Quarry No. 1 (UCMP V-5003), which is in a Lancian terrestrial horizon in the Lance Formation of Wyoming. It is the type species of Pediomys.
