Taxonomy
Peratherium innominatum was named by Simpson (1928). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Millersville, which is in a Bridgerian terrestrial horizon in the Bridger Formation of Wyoming.

It was recombined as Peradectes innominatus by Setoguchi (1973), Crochet (1979) and Bown (1982); it was recombined as Copedelphys innominata by Rothecker and Storer (1996); it was recombined as Herpetotherium innominatum by Rose et al. (2012).
