Taxonomy
Peradectes protinnominatus was named by McKenna (1960). Its type locality is West Alheit Pocket, which is in a Wasatchian terrestrial horizon in the Wasatch Formation of Colorado.
It was synonymized subjectively with Peratherium chesteri by Setoguchi (1973) and Bown (1979).
