Ignacius frugivorus

Taxonomy
Ignacius frugivorus was named by Matthew and Granger (1921) [genotype]. Its type specimen is A.M.N.H. No. 17368, a maxilla (upper jaw with C, P4-M2 and alveoli of remaining cheek teeth), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mason Pocket, which is in a Tiffanian fissure fill shale in Colorado.

It was recombined as Phenacolemur frugivorus by Simpson (1935), Simpson (1935), Simpson (1936), McKenna (1963), Schiebout (1974) and Krishtalka et al. (1975); it was recombined as Phenacolemur (Ignacius) frugivorus by Robinson (1968).
