Platygonus texanus

Taxonomy
Platygonus texanus was named by Gidley (1903). Its type specimen is AMNH 10702, a partial skull (palate containing the complete upper molar-premolar series, parts of the alveoli of the canines and incisors, and a portion of the upper anterior part of the sk), and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was synonymized subjectively with Platygonus bicalcaratus by Hibbard and Riggs (1949), Kurten and Anderson (1980) and Schultz (1990).
