Nannodectes gidleyi
Taxonomy
Nothodectes gidleyi was named by Matthew (1917). Its type specimen is A.M.N.H. No. 17120, a partial skull (upper and lower jaws), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mason Pocket, which is in a Tiffanian fissure fill shale in Colorado.
It was recombined as Plesiadapis gidleyi by Simpson (1928), Simpson (1935), Simpson (1937) and Russell (1967); it was recombined as Nannodectes gidleyi by Gingerich (1975) and Gingerich (1976).
