Plesiadapis rex

Taxonomy
Tetonius rex was named by Gidley (1923). Its type specimen is U.S.N.M. no. 9838, a tooth (isolated [lower] M2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Melville Localities 11/13, which is in a Tiffanian terrestrial horizon in the "Fort Union No. 3" (= Melville) Formation of Montana.

It was recombined as Plesiadapis rex by Simpson (1927), Simpson (1937), Gingerich (1975) and Gingerich (1976).
